Initiative to Support Belarusians Seeking Protection in the United States
BYACTION.ORG is a volunteer initiative that supports Belarusian nationals seeking asylum in the United States.
The initiative was created in response to the growing need for support among Belarusians navigating the U.S. immigration process, especially those at risk of immigration detention or already detained while facing removal to Belarus.
The Need for the ByAction.org Initiative
Thousands of Belarusians have been subjected to widespread political repression and forced to flee the country in search of safety and freedom. For many, leaving Belarus became the only way to protect their lives and liberty.
The Belarusian authorities systematically use torture, cruel and degrading treatment, arbitrary arrests, prolonged detention, fabricated criminal charges, and lengthy politically motivated prison sentences.
The United States has become one of the countries where victims of political repression can seek safety and protection. At the same time, immigration backlogs, delays in case processing, and the risk of detention create additional challenges for Belarusian asylum seekers.
ByAction’s Work
The initiative provides volunteer support to Belarusian asylum seekers. Our volunteers:
— Operate a 24/7 hotline that connects people with our volunteers:

— Provide targeted volunteer assistance in the most challenging situations.
